Kristie Tyson has been working over 20 years to build an effective relationship with children, adults and families to endure needs are meet and improvements are made in patient lives. Kristie’s mission is to provide quality health care services that inspire and uplift others to achieve their best life. Kristie graduated from Truman State University with a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. She began working with Youth in the Division of Youth Services where she worked with at-risk youth. While there she had the desire to help others in a more preventative manner. She then began seeking a degree in Counseling at Lindenwood University.
 
Kristie has worked in several other social services agencies that include working with families, teens and children. She has worked at Better Family Life as a Career Developer, MBCH as a Therapeutic Foster Case Manager- which lead her to work creatively with children and teens to help maintain placement. She also trained foster parents to help deal with challenging behaviors.
 
Kristie has been Counseling for 11 years. As a Licensed Professional Counselor she worked at Epworth School where she was a Therapist working with kids of diverse backgrounds that may have issues with anxiety, self-esteem, mood disorder and more. She then went to Great Circle where she was a Mentor Coordinator and a Program Director in the Residential program.
 
In 2017 Kristie Tyson went to become an independent contractor through River Birch Counseling and now has created her own Counseling Services- Uplift and Inspire Counseling Services. She is now located in Lake St Louis and in the Olivette area.
 
Her specialty areas are counseling children and adolescents with academic, behavioral or family issues. She also has experience in working with adults through various transitions of life. She has been trained in trauma therapy for children and adults to assist them in coping and processing emotions and memories tied to traumatic experiences.
 
Her commitment is to facilitate health and wellness as you deal with your life’s situation or circumstance (anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, life transitions, grief, and relationships).  She is accepting new clients and she looks forward to joining your journey to wellness and living your best life.
